Rockford, IL

More than 30 years ago, a group of men and women dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the skills and values of the 1820-1840 "Mountain Man" era through practice, demonstration and education came into being.

Today that group, known as Rock Run Long Rifles, Inc., continues its work by participating in public events throughout northern Illinois and at its range and rendezvous facility located about 10 miles west of Rockford, Illinois.

Rock Run Long Rifles, Inc., is affiliated with the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, the National Rifle Association and the Wisconsin Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.

The club facilities are open to the public for the regularly scheduled monthly shoots, which generally are held on the first Sunday of the month unless a holiday falls on that weekend. See the Calendar of Events for details.

The Club grounds also are open to the public for other scheduled events, such as Rendezvous. See the Calendar of Events for details. Our members will be more than happy to answer questions and help newcomers learn the sport during these times.

At all other times the club grounds are closed except for use by members and their guests.
